Two well-known companies in the field of mobile energy announced the launch of new products this week.
Goal Zero offers the new Sherpa 100AC Power Pack mobile power station, while Nomad introduces the wireless charger for Tesla Model 3.
Goal Power Station Zero Sherpa 100AC
I reviewed Goal Zero's Yeti 1400 portable power plant last year. It was an impressive technology that could charge 70 times a smartphone or operate a full size refrigerator for more than 12 hours. At 45.6 pounds, it was relatively portable (at least compared to a generator) and could even be recharged using one of Goal Zero's solar panels for a complete, grid-independent green solution.

The new Goal Zero Sherpa 100AC Power Pack channels the spirit of Yeti into a much smaller and much more affordable package.
The Sherpa 100AC weighs only two pounds and is enclosed in a sturdy aluminum case. It is equipped with NMC Li-ion cells with a capacity of 25.600mAh or 94.7Wh. In terms of output ports, the power supply provides a dual USB-C (at 60W each), a 2.4A USB with wireless charging support and a 100W AC outlet This makes the Sherpa 100AC the perfect mobile power solution for everything from laptops to cameras to even laptops. It also incorporates an OLED display that displays key information, while giving homeowners the ability to customize charging options.

Goal Zero says that he will charge a smartphone eight times, a tablet four times and a laptop twice. The Sherpa power pack also includes Lightning "Adventure" cables, Micro USB and Robust USB-C for charging devices. When it comes to charging the Sherpa 100AC itself, this can be done with an optional Wall Mount or Solar Panel Goal Zero (making it a very eco-friendly option).

Nomad Wireless Charger for Tesla Model 3
Just in time for Tesla's ramp-up in Model 3 production, the latest version of Nomad aims to make the consumer electric car a bit more user friendly for iPhone X-compatible smartphones. The Nomad Wireless Charger for Tesla Model 3 was designed to integrate seamlessly into the car's dashboard charging, connecting to its two USB-A ports. A 6,000 mAh internal battery boosts output power from 1A to 2A to a pair of 7.5W wireless charging batteries. The wireless charger holder has a non-slip rubber surface and thanks to the amplification of its own battery, can quickly recharge two smartphones simultaneously. An LED status LED lets you know when smartphones are fully charged.
Supported smartphones are the Apple iPhone 8 Series, the iPhone X and all compatible Qi Android smartphones. Nomad says that a spacer is included to help ensure optimal position of the smaller phones.

I've had the opportunity to review many Nomad products over the years – including Apple Watch bracelets, wallets, cables and hubs. The company gets design, always uses top quality materials and knows what smartphones manufacturers want. so I expect the wireless charger for Tesla Model 3 to be another victory (albeit for a smaller market than most of its products).
Nomad indicates that pre-orders (delivery Sept. 1) will benefit from a $ 20 discount, bringing the price of $ 149 from the Tesla Model 3 wireless charger to $ 129.
