UK Pink Floyd Experience, a tribute band to British rockers, has canceled three concerts in Israel following pressure from Roger Waters, the former Pink Floyd singer.

On Saturday, Waters – a BDS vocal activist – posted on Facebook to urge the cover group to cancel.

"Singing my songs in front of segregated audiences in Israel and contributing to the cultural laundering of the racist government and apartheid of this country would be an act of excessive malice and disrespect," wrote Waters. "The people you intend to entertain perform their neighbor's children and kill them in cold blood every day. In the name of all that is human, PLEASE hear my call and cancel today.

A few hours after the publication of Waters, the tribute group announced on Facebook that all its shows in Israel were canceled. But after a wave of online attacks, the cover group has completely removed its Facebook page on Sunday morning.

"Despite EGOeast Productions 'attempts to reverse this decision, we could not prevent the online flood that included the publication of the group members' phone numbers was so harbaded that they turned off their devices," he said. said EGOeast, the local production company, a statement Sunday. EGOeast said it had worked all night to stop the UK Pink Floyd Experience from canceling its shows and that thousands of Israelis had used social media to do the same.

"The situation has become so extreme that the group has removed its Facebook page," said EGOeast. "In the last hours, the group has asked to wait with an official response, in order to try to fulfill the contract that he signed," added the production company. "We hope that our efforts over the past 24 hours will bear fruit and that the shows will unfold as planned."

Pink Floyd Experience, a spokesman for the UK, declined to respond to a request for comment before the time of publication. The spokesperson of EGOeast said Sunday afternoon that no final decision had yet been made.

The takeover group was scheduled to perform on January 4 in Beersheba, January 5 in Tel Aviv and January 6 in Haifa.

In January 2017, the British company Pink Floyd Experience was produced in the three cities, leaving thousands of Israeli fans very satisfied.

"Get ready for tonight [sic] show, "they tweeted in January 2017." While waiting to play for the residents of Tel Aviv! The group also found time between concerts to tour Israel, including visiting the Dead Sea and other sites.
