A political debate in a Brooklyn synagogue was canceled due to security concerns following the discovery of anti-Semitic offenses scribbled on the walls of the building's stairwell, including "Jews, better be ready."
"Wide city" Star Ilana Glazer was scheduled to interview journalist Amy Goodman and Senegalese Senate candidates Andrew Gounardes and Jim Gaughran to discuss how politicians really serve the local community. However, before the opening of the event, anti-Semitic messages were discovered in the Union Temple stairwell at Brooklyn Heights around 8 pm Thursday.

The words "The Jewish rats we are here", "It's better for the Jews to be ready""Pink" and "Hitler," were discovered on the second and fourth floors of the temple, reports NBC New York.
"She did not feel comfortable to introduce 200 people into the confined space, potential sitting ducks,"participant Kathryn Gonzalez posted on Facebook.
The organizers were forced to cancel the event as they feared an imitating attack following the Pittsburgh Mbadacre last Saturday at the Synagogue of the Tree of Life, in New York. during which 11 people were shot dead and the author shouted: "All Jews must die!" This was the deadliest of the antisemitic killings in the history of the United States.
The latest incident is one of several alleged cases of anti-Semitic vandalism following the Pittsburgh shooting: vandals scribbled a swastika and racial epithet in Brooklyn Heights and a synagogue in California was degraded "F ** k Jews" Wednesday.
Last month, a man was charged with hate crime for badaulting after beating an orthodox Jew in broad daylight in the middle of Borough Park Street.

The New York Police Hate Crime Unit is investigating the New York Police Temple case, but no suspects have been identified or arrested yet.
