Sixty looks good on Boston.
With a trio of circuits and a few shots from Chris Sale, the Red Sox won 10-5 against Kansas City Royals Friday night at Kauffman Stadium.
The sale was dominant on the mound, with six innings, while dropping a single deserved run and eliminating 12, while J.D. Martinez, Mookie Betts and Xander Bogaerts all qualified for the win.
Steve Pearce also had a big dinner party, winning 3-in-5 with two RBIs and one race.
With the win, the Red Sox rose to 60-29, while the Royals went to 25-62.
Here's how everything went:
GAME IN A WORD
Dominant.
The offensive came early and often while Sale easily handled the Royals' bats.
ON THE BUMP
– After an 8-0 defeat after two innings, Kansas City recovers a goal in the second after a double of Jorge Bonifacio and a walk of Hunter Dozier that leads to a single of RBI of Alcides Escobar.
That's all the team could oppose to Sale, since the southpaw allowed Adalberto Mondesi to fight with runners first and second to finish the second. Overall, Sale eliminated 12 batters in six solid runs before the end of the night.
– Tyler Thornburg made his Red Sox debut in Sale's relief and gave a hat-trick to the first batter he faced, which later turned into a run on a line at the second place.
– Brandon Workman took eighth place and gave up one point before Mike Moustakas throws a double bomb in the right field to reduce the Red Sox 'lead to 9-4.
– Hector Velazquez was called for ninth place and dropped one RBI double before finishing the match for the win.
IN THE BOX OF BATTERY
– The Red Sox did not take long to put points on the board with a first round of four innings.
Betts kicked off his 22nd run of the season on the center-left field to give Boston a 1-0 lead
Martinez and Pearce's back-to-back Singles, followed by a walk from Bogaerts bags for Brock Holt, who tackled two points with a single field on the right. Sandy Leon then took part in the fourth Boston race with just one of her goals to finish first in all four races.
– The attack continued in the second with a pair of Martinez and Bogaerts two-point home runs. Andrew Benintendi scored, allowing Martinez to reach his 27th home win of the season.
After Pearce doubled, Bogaerts smashed the third round of the Boston game to take a comfortable 8-0 lead.
– Jackie Bradley Jr. completed the ninth in the team with a double RBI in the eighth.
– Boston scored again in ninth place after hitter-hitter Blake Swihart scored to start the run before Pearce attacked with a double in the center.
– Pearce led the way in Boston with three hits, while Benintendi, Martinez and Holt both had two hits.
– No member of the nine Red Sox has been hit.
