The remains of a 60-year-old Israeli man were reportedly found near Capri, Italy on Tuesday after a אקםtwo weeks-long intensive search conducted by the Italian Coast Guard and the Magnus International Search and Rescue company.
The family of the missing man was notified and a DNA forensic test is being done to complete the identification. Should the identity of the man be verified, the Israeli embbady in Rome will have the remains shipped to Israel for burial.
The man was taking part in a cruise in the area of Capri when he took a dinghy boat to sail on his own roughly two weeks ago. He was never seen again.
The extensive search for him included drones and helicopters as well as diving teams.
The Italian authorities worked in close cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to locate the missing Israeli.
