A red moon will appear in the night sky in July in a fairly common phenomenon.

Our lunar neighbor with a deep coppery red hue and we can see it anywhere in the UK, reports the Online Mirror.

Although this experience is quite common and it takes place twice a year, it has mysterious connotations.

The event has led many conspiracy theorists to believe that blood moons are proof of the upcoming apocalypse. John Hagee and Mark Blitz, Christian ministers, said that a continuous "tetrad" was the end-of-the-earth indicator as described in Acts 2:20 and Revelation 6:12.

A "tetrad" is four consecutive blood moons that began in April 2014 with six full moons in between.

Still, we are still here.

In reality, the blood moon has a very scientific explanation for which it turns red during a lunar eclipse

What is a blood moon?

A lunar eclipse occurs when the moon pbades in the shadow of the Earth. This is an area known as the umbra, where sunlight is blocked by our planet.

When light refracts differently in the atmosphere and hits the moon, it makes it appear red. During a total eclipse, the entire moon is in the shade and appears blood red

But when it runs along the shadow, known as partial or penumbral eclipse, the Effect is less dramatic.

Blood Moon

"The orbit of the moon around our planet is tilted so that it usually falls above or below the shadow of Earth, "says NASA

. ] "About twice a year, a full moon harmonises perfectly with the Earth and the sun, so that the Earth's shadow totally blocks the sun's light, which would normally reflect the moon."

"The moon loses its brightness a worrisome, weaker than normal glow, from the dim light of the sun that crosses the Earth's atmosphere," said the US Space Agency.

"Often thrown into a reddish hue because of the light of the atmosphere, are sometimes called" blood moons. "

How long does blood m

The duration of a lunar eclipse based on a number of factors – but they usually do not last more than two hours

For example, the lunar eclipse will be held on July 27, 2018, is predicted to be one of the longest this century at about one hour and 43 minutes.

There are two reasons for this: First, it occurs at the same time as the apogee of the moon – when it is the farthest from the Earth.

Second, it will pbad directly into the darkest region of the Earth's shadow.

The average lunar eclipse for about an hour. And we let us talk about the part of the eclipse called "totality", where the whole face of the moon is in the shadow.
