Switzerland will use an internal selection for its entry into the Eurovision Song Contest 2019. SRF, the Swiss broadcaster, has announced that it will no longer use the national final Die Entscheidungsshow .
Instead of Die Entscheidungsshow, broadcasters will turn to a 120-member jury to select the song to be sent to Israel in 2019. The jury will consist of 100 members of the public and 20 industry experts. Both juries will have a score of 50/50 in the result.
In collaboration with Digame, a public panel of 100 members will be formed according to selected criteria. Those interested in becoming a member of a public jury will be able to apply at the end of the month of August. The jury of international experts of 20 members will be composed of former members of the juries of the respective countries
Switzerland begins its search 1 September
Authors, producers and artists will be invited to submit their song to from September 1st. These songs will not be made public at any point in the selection. The submission window will be closed on October 1st, when both juries will be invited to listen to all the songs. The Swiss broadcasters SRF, RSI, RTS and RTR will have the possibility to add wildcards to the selection. SRF has not yet confirmed the date on which the selection process will end and the chosen entry will be announced.
