Thousands of people waving banners and pans paraded Friday in the streets of London to protest against US President Donald Trump on his first official visit to Britain as president.
More than 64,000 people registered to protest in London against the visit and other demonstrations were expected in the country's major cities.
Proponents waved placards saying "Dump Trump" and "Keep your tiny hands of women's rights" while others chanted "Donald Trump must go away!".
Earlier, activists floated a six-meter-high airship outside the parliament, representing the American president as a baby wearing orange and snarling diapers.
"I wanted to make it very clear that when Trump came to the country, we do not agree with his policy," said Kimberley, 35, during protests in central London. "I think it's important for him to see it … it will show people that he's prejudiced against the fact that we're behind them."
Britain considers its close ties with the United States, which she calls the special relationship, as a keystone of foreign policy and Prime Minister Theresa May wooed Trump before a planned departure from the European Union.
But some Britons see Trump as crude, volatile, unreliable and opposed to their values on a range of issues.
Trump, who arrived in Britain on Thursday, told the Sun newspaper that the planned protests against him in London and in other British cities made him unwelcome, so he avoided the capital as much as possible.
He will avoid Friday's protests by meeting May and Queen Elizabeth outside of London.
"I guess when they took out airships to make me uncomfortable, (there is no reason for me to go to London," he said) told the Sun newspaper. "I loved London as a city, I have not been there for a long time, but when they make you feel bad, why would I stay here?
