An Israeli court on Thursday postponed its verdict on the conditional release of Palestinian jailed resistance icon Raed Salah, according to his lawyer.
The decision was made during a hearing held Sunday in Haifa City, in the north, to discuss a request from Salah's lawyer for his release under house arrest.
Attorney Khaled Zbarqa said that the hearing had taken place after completing all the house inspection procedures where Salah would be released in case he would be released to Kafr Kanna, in Lower Galilee, in northern Israel.
In March, the Magistrates Court approved Salah's conditional release on a preliminary basis, but the decision was challenged by the Israeli prosecutor's office.
The "conditions" included the ban on entering the hometown of Salah, Umm al-Fahm, in northern Israel and other restrictions on his movement.
Last summer, Israeli police arrested Salah, the head of the Islamic Movement in Israel, in Umm al-Fahm before condemning him for "inciting violence" and throwing him at the police station. # 39; isolation.
In February, a court in the city of Beersheba, in the south of the country, slapped the resistance icon with six months of solitary confinement.
