The Labor Party has called RTÉ to boycott the Eurovision Song Contest in 2019 if Israel hosts the event in Jerusalem.
However, it had already been announced in September that the song competition would be held in Tel Aviv next year.
Today 's Labor Party conference also called on the government to immediately institute a cultural boycott of Israel.
It also calls for the disinvestment and punishment of Israeli goods and services.
The motion submitted by the party's youth wing stated that the conference was opposed to the illegal occupation of Israeli forces in the Palestinian territories and the unjustified use of force in violation of international law.
The call for a boycott of the Eurovision Song Contest sparked a lot of debate and former TD Joanna Tuffy opposed it.
However, it was finally adopted by a large majority when delegates voted and it was supported by Senator Ivana Bacik.
This year's competition, held in Lisbon in May, was won by Israeli singer Netta Barzilai. The contest usually takes place in the winner's country of the previous year.
The Israeli government had previously indicated that it hoped that the 2019 event would take place in Jerusalem, but Eurovision chose Tel Aviv to host the next contest.
