WARNING: This article contains spoilers about The Little Drummer Girl episode 1

What will happen in The Little Drummer Girl episode two?

The Little Drummer Girl episode two will pick up from the dramatic ending of the first episode.

The final seconds of episode one saw Israeli spymaster Martin Kurtz (played Michael Shannon) welcome Charlie (Florence Pugh) to the secret make-shift headquarters of his international espionage operation.

The episode ended with him greeting Charlie on the driveway.

He said: “I am the producer, writer and director of our little show and I would like to talk to you about your part.”

WHAT HAPPENED IN THE LITTLE DRUMMER GIRL EPISODE 1?

The BBC synopsis for episode two reads: “Charlie is recruited with the promise of the role of a lifetime to infiltrate a dangerous revolutionary cell. As a cover story, she and Becker must pose as lovers.”

In episode two, Becker’s (Alexander Skarsgard) real identity as Gadi Becker, an Israeli intelligence officer is explored.

The “part” Charlie will be offered will also be expanded upon and it looks like she will be finding herself taking on a dangerous character.

In episode one aspiring but failing actress Charlie met Becker whilst on holiday in Greece.

What she thinks will be a holiday romance, turns out to be far from it.

HOW MANY EPISODES ARE IN THE LITTLE DRUMMER GIRL?

Becker essentially kidnapped Charlie in Athens after kissing her at the Acropolis and taking her to meet Israeli spymaster Martin Kurtz.

Audiences learnt throughout Europe, there was a terrorist cell made up of four brothers, known as the Al-Khadar’s.

They had been bombing prominent Jewish targets in Europe.

Khalil Al-Khadar, whose whereabouts were unknown, was the bomb maker and his brother Michel, also known as Salim (Amir Khoury) was planting them at specific targets with the help of westerner Anna (Iben Akerlie).

Kurtz explained that to end the Palestine terrorist cell it would need to be infiltrated.

WHO IS FLORENCE PUGH?

The cell recruite attractive western girls to act as bait to plant the bombs and it was suggested that Charlie would take on this role.

Episode two will hopefully reveal if it was Becker or Salim watching Charlie in the Red Dragon Theatre in London.

At the start of episode one, Charlie was acting with her theatre company and the watch belonging to a man in the front row caught her eye.

The man was in a green jacket – the exact same outfit Salim’s character was seen wearing throughout the entire episode.

Becker was also spotted in a similar outfit and the exact same watch that Charlie saw.

Frustratingly, viewers never saw the man’s face but Charlie suspected it may have been Becker.

The BBC has released two photos of Salim and Becker sitting in the theatre in the exact same outfit.

An official promo video for episode two has not yet been released. This article will be updated with more information when it is available.

The Little Drummer Girl episode two airs Sunday, November 4 at 9pm on BBC One.
