It may have been a long time coming, but Nexon's MapleStory M is finally here. For those who do not know it, it is a mobile interpretation of the main PC MMORPG. MapleStory M is supposed to clear the mobile slate by offering something a little more familiar to longtime fans.
For starters, it's a somewhat demanding game despite its simplistic and cartoony look. I spent some time reading it when there was an open beta, and it would seem that its requirements have not changed in the six months that have pbaded. You will need a device running Android 4.4 or higher, a dual-core processor and 1.5 GB of RAM. Once installed, it only requires 214 MB of storage, but there may be other downloads already made, which may increase.
The gameplay is not really what you remember from the clbadic MapleStory, so if you're an older player, get ready for some free-to-play shenanigans. Now, it's not as if MapleStory was known for fair monetization, and of course, that's not going to change for a mobile version. So yes, you can expect a self-quest system with an automatic combat system (which is unlocked at level 20), and you'd better believe that in-app purchases go up to $ 89.99 per item. After all, it's a Nexon title, so it's something planned.
Depending on how you view mobile MMOs, this self-quest system can be negative or positive. Questing is as easy as tapping on the screen to keep your character on the long run. This can be great for those of you who hate to waste time manually grinding, but it is also a cheap trick to keep people addicted to the positive game loop when things move so fast.
