But even with all these punches, there was still a triumph: Tim Tebow.
Now, it's gone too.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Monday afternoon that Tebow – the world's most famous 30-year-old Double A fielder – would need a hand surgery that would likely end his season .

This is a devastating news for the Mets, who now have no hope in the tank without Tebow, which has an absolutely stunning level. 273 on average with six homers and 36 RBIs in 84 minor championship games for the Binghamton Rumble ponies this year. That's the real name of his team, I swear.
While the light of Tebow's season sparkles and probably closes for good, Mets hope for the eternal glory of baseball this year. the hopes of the team's global series were already so dead that they entered the decomposition phase. But that does not change the fact that the Mets could have earned attention in September when they promoted Tebow to the majors during the expansion of the lineup in the last month of the season.
What would they have to lose? This organization is basically already a clown show, and sending Tebow to the bigger ones would be an easy money gain for the club, at the very least. But now, the possibility is anything but death. Instead of another round with Tebowmania, we will have to pay attention to things like the MLB division races, the playoff implications, and a host of other sports on the schedule – including games significant football.
