While 2018 saw a resurgence among rappers who are inspired by the aesthetics of rock 'n roll, an experienced rock star is not necessarily satisfied with the Travis Scott has adapted a certain aspect of the scenography of the Astroworld Tour.
In a series of articles posted on Instagram on Wednesday, Nov. 28, Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee challenged Travis Scott, accusing the rapper of stealing Lee's scenography.
"I just discovered this bading idiot @travisscott or a member of his team stole the 360 AND The Crüecifly! WTF !! You have an original idea, brother … (sweeps to see who made this shit first) BRB, there's more … "Lee wrote on Instagram, sharing a video starring the two Astroworld and one from Motley Crue's The last round performance.
Both feature a solo rollercoaster loop that is interactive for the performer, Lee's interpretation being even designed for him to play drums while taking a turn. Scott's design also has an interactive component, allowing fans to ride on a Ferris wheel.
In a second article, Lee stresses that in addition to the inspiration of Scott's amusement park, decor not only included an item that was very similar to his, but two.
"ANNNNND, not a scam, but two," he continued. "DOPE I get copy is a form of flattery, but it's just to snatch my shit." What do you think about it ??? "
Although Scott himself has not yet responded, it is possible that this is the first time that he knew about the similarities with the set or hoped perhaps to be inspired by the famous rock band. Anyway, the similarities are definitely there.
