trigo 11 July 2018 | The Israeli start-up of retail distribution automation, Trigo Vision, has emerged from stealth mode to announce that it has raised $ 7 million in a start-up financing phase. The funding round was led by Hetz Ventures, a UK-based company and Israel, and Vertex Ventures Israel. The funding will be used to develop the company's R & D team and to build new applications for their technology.

The Tel Aviv platform, like the system that supports the Amazon Go supermarket, combines a sophisticated network of ceiling cameras with machine vision algorithms to identify customer purchase items with precision while they are at the store, eliminating the need for a checkout process.

Developed by AI and algorithmic experts who have previously worked at Google, Amazon and Apple, Trigo is currently testing Venture Beat

"Any type of automation market needs to work with exceptionally high levels of accuracy especially in such a direct environment for consumers, such as retail, "said Daniel Gabay, Co-Founder and CTO of Trigo Vision, in a statement. "This is our goal and we believe that the technological capabilities of our platform, combining flexibility and scalability, can replace competitors in the space even compared to those of the technology giants."

"We received extremely positive feedback for Trigo Vision," says Michael Gabay, CEO and co-founder, "We are already in discussion with major grocery stores around the world and we are confident that Trigo Vision will be the first to make its debut in an online store. With this investment, we will seek to develop additional new applications for our tracking technology, thereby improving operational efficiency in store and customer engagement "[19659006]
