Two border police officers were stabbed and slightly injured in a terrorist attack before dawn Thursday in the old city of Jerusalem, before shooting down their badailant, police and doctors said.
The policeman was stabbed in the face near his eye. The female border guard was stabbed in the leg. The attacker, a 26-year-old Palestinian from the West Bank, was shot dead by the police.
Surveillance images taken on the scene, published by the police, show the badailant who rushes to the agents and stabs them quickly with the knife. Prior to the stabbing attack, the badailant was also seen in front of a camera pushing an ultra-Orthodox man on the ground in the alleys of the old city.

The weapon was recovered at the scene.
"The terrorist came from the Damascus Gate, pulled out a knife, attacked a Jewish man on Hagai Street and tried to stab him, and when he failed to do so, he continued to run towards border guards – a man and female officer – who were stationed nearby and tried to stab them, "said the police.
"In a fight with the terrorist, the border guards managed to neutralize him by shooting him," police said in a statement.
Security forces and medical personnel arrived at the scene and the two officers were taken to the hospital for treatment, the Magen David Adom emergency service announced.
The female officer was taken to Hadbadah Hospital in the capital, Ein Kerem. She was treated at the trauma center with minor injuries, said the hospital.
The border guard was taken to the Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem with stab wounds in the face, the hospital said.
The old city of Jerusalem has been a frequent site of stabbing attacks by Palestinians in recent years.
The attack follows a night of violence in which Israeli forces killed two suspected Palestinian terrorists in separate incidents.

On October 7, Ashraf Na'alowa, 23, reportedly killed his colleagues, Kim Levengrond Yehezkel and Ziv Hajbi, in a factory where they all worked in the Barkan industrial estate. Another Israeli woman was also injured in the attack.
Na'alowa, in Shuweika village, West Bank, near Tulkarem, remained on the run for more than two months, repeatedly avoiding capture by Israeli security forces. In the meantime, a number of his relatives and alleged accomplices have been arrested and charged as part of the hunt for human.
Early Thursday morning, Israeli forces attempted to arrest him as part of a joint operation by the IDF, Shin Bet security services and Israeli police. He was killed during the operation, said the Shin Bet, adding that he was armed.
The army gave no further details on the location of the raid, indicating only that it had been recovered as a result of extensive intelligence efforts and that he was planning another attack.
Na'alowa is the second alleged terrorist killed in a few hours.
Late Wednesday night, Israeli forces killed Salih Omar Barghouti, suspended Sunday night by a gun attack at a bus stop located near Ofra, hitting a 30-week pregnant woman seriously injured. The baby was delivered in an emergency operation, but died earlier Wednesday.

Barghouti, 29, a resident of Kobar, a village near Ramallah, was killed Wednesday night after attempting to attack the troops while he was trying to escape arrest. He was shot dead, said the Shin Bet security agency, adding that he was suspected of having terrorized Ofra. attack.
