Vitalik Buterin does not move away from Ethereum – Inside Bitcoins

An article title in Review of MIT technology According to Vitalik Buterin, Ethereum can only succeed if it steps back. Tone Vays almost wet his pants with joy at the imminent departure of Vitalik, before this one makes it clear.

Your deaf

Vays threw out the title to say that bitcoin did not compete with absurd platforms and suggested that Buterin would "pull a Dan Larimer" (he had previously criticized Larimer, founder and chief technology officer of Block.one, on the flat. EOS form.)

Buterin was quick to point out that he was not leaving the rostrum and that critics would criticize everything that he would do. He suggested that the title was misleading and that the subtitle gave a more correct emphasis: this Ethereum must stop relying on it to be truly decentralized.

In fact, the subtitle is fine.

> At Ethereum's annual developer conference, its founder explains why its technology can only be truly decentralized if it stops being dependent on it.

"Ethereum stops depending on me" is the correct emphasis. But very far from me to leave.

Spontaneous combustion

Buterin has already spoken of detaching himself from the Ethereum project. Just last month, he suggested that it be "Already underway."

Although the language is a little ambiguous, he specifies that his intention is to allow Ethereum to survive if it burns itself spontaneously. (It is not clear why he imagined such a disappearance.)

Vitalik is still actively involved in the development of the Ethereum, although he is deliberately trying to reduce his visibility. Obviously, it is not healthy that the fate of an entire platform rests in the hands of one man.

Ethereum 2.0

Buterin was talking to Review of MIT technology at Devcon in Prague, the annual meeting organized by the Ethereum Foundation. Ethereum 2.0, a future update dealing in particular with sizing issues, was at the center of discussions.

The transition from a "proof of work" protocol to a more energy efficient "proof of participation" algorithm is a key element. Other improvements include methods known as sharding and plasma to improve current transaction limits. By allowing users to perform certain transactions without writing each of them in the blockchain, the network will be able to handle more volumes.

Not surprisingly, Buterin has been instrumental in designing and implementing these changes. Although he may want to be detached from the project, he is very far from being seconded.
