WWE SmackDown makes a good impression on Becky Lynch's return

Although Raw numbers are down this week, Tuesday night's SmackDown has seen its audiences grow by 5.5%, reaching an average of 2.264 million viewers. This equates to a much higher retention than usual of 96% of Raw's audience, one of the highest in history.

The increase may be due in part to the fact that CBS aired rebroadcasts between 8 pm and 10 pm in front of SmackDown, resulting in a 50% drop in ratings for this network.

SmackDown finished ninth for the total cable television audience, but dominated the 18- to 49-year-old demo with a score of 0.81. There was no major sports competition outside of a college basketball game on ESPN that drew 1.59 million viewers.

Year-over-year, SmackDown was down more than 15% from the same week in 2017, continuing the recent double-digit downtrend.
