It could ‘get ugly’ with Urban Meyer and Jaguars after party controversy

All eyes are on Jacksonville after the controversy over Urban Meyer’s viral photos.

Just a day after the Jaguars head coach apologized to the team and his family for becoming a “distraction,” a new report hints at a possible “ugly” split between the Jaguars and Meyer.

The freshman NFL coach became a trending topic on Twitter over the weekend after footage appeared that appeared to show him dancing with a woman who isn’t his wife, Shelley Meyer. Other photos showed him posing and partying with other women.

Tuesday, Michael Lombardi from “The GM Shuffle” podcast reported that there have been “many closed-door meetings” this week amid the Meyer controversy. The meetings, according to Lombardi, have not focused on the Jaguars’ Week 5 game against the Titans.

At his weekly press conference on Monday, Meyer called his actions “stupid.” He explained that he spoke to the whole team, as well as to “a group of” one-on-one team leaders.

Meyer added that he had spoken to Jaguar owner Shad Khan, who was “very supportive” of the situation. He also spoke with the Managing Director, Trent Baalke.

However, according to Michael Silver of the NFL Network, the apologies only went to “positioning the groups individually” and were not well received by a “very skeptical” audience.

“We looked at him like, WTF?” An anonymous player told Silver. “As soon as he left, everyone started laughing to death. And he knew it.

“It’s bad. I don’t know how it’s going to work.

Although he said the team is focused on Sunday’s game against the Titans, Meyer admitted he was “concerned” about the drama that could hamper his ability to lead the team.

Jacksonville (0-4) will host Tennessee (2-2) on Sunday.
