The first wave of discounts is in the books and we will see the rest arrive today as teams reduce their roster to 53 players. The Broncos have made some moves, but we have also seen a number of notable old Broncos see their times with their respective teams come to an end.
The most notable former Broncos player is probably their former first-round pick, quarterback Paxton Lynch, who was released by the Seattle Seahawks. He was struggling against Geno Smith to be the replacement for Russell WIlson in Seattle, but he obviously lost.
This could be the end of the line for Lynch who failed to show a lot of things during his stay in the NFL. He has the size and pedigree of the first round that could give him another chance, but the odds pile up quickly.
Lynch was not the only former Broncos player to be released in the first wave of Friday's cuts. Shane Ray who signed with the Baltimore Ravens this season has not managed to make their team. He was trying to stick to an edge backup, but like Lynch, it did not work.
These are your first-round picks in 2015 and 2016 by the Broncos, who did not manage to do much with the Broncos at first and failed to be part of the list of 53 players on their second team . Not very good for the Broncos general manager, John Elway.
The other former Broncos who received their March Walking Journal were linebacker Corey Nelson and cornerback Kayvon Webster.
The other notable former Broncos player on Friday was former linebacker Brandon Marshall. He signed with rival Raiders but did not show enough players to burst their roster of 53 players. However, he looks like a player who really wants to come home and play for the Broncos. Does John Elway and society want to do that? We will see.
