Hundreds of survivors of Larry Nbadar's badual badault received the Arthur Ashe Courage Award at ESPYS 2018.
Many survivors detailed their abuse stories in a video which was played before the award ceremony.
Actress Jennifer Garner said that if her story is difficult, it's a story that the world "must hear".
Women, known collectively as "surviving sisters," who denounced Nbadar were honored Wednesday for their "strength and determination" to highlight "the darkness of badual abuse."
