The Los Angeles Lakers should be one of the biggest players during the free agency period.
Based on their early activity, the team swings for fences and showed interest for several top players. . According to Marc J. Spears of The Undefeated, the Lakers are interested in potentially signing Orlando Magic before Aaron Gordon to an offer sheet. Gordon is a restricted free agent this summer and the Magic would have the option of matching an offer that he would receive from another team.
Outside of Magic, one source said that another team had to keep an eye on Magic RFA before Aaron Gordon is Los Angeles Lakers. Magic GM John Hammond has already said @TheUndefeated that the hope is to re-sign @UncleDrewFilm long-term star. https://t.co/qr2HFFrBd9

This news comes just hours after David Aldridge of TNT reported that the Lakers were to meet the Houston Rockets Clint Capela who is also a restricted free agent this summer. Ironically, the Lakers also have a free agent restricted to them in 1945. Julius Randle but it is not clear if Randle has a strong desire to stay with the team.
Gordon really blossomed into one of the most dangerous forward in the Eastern Conference. The former Arizona Wildcat has just finished a season with 17.6 points, 7.9 rebounds and 2.3 badists while shooting 33.6 percent over the bow. All of Gordon's offensive numbers were career highs and it was the second consecutive season that he was averaging two figures for the Magic.
Gordon is eligible for a five-year contract paying nearly $ 150 million that starts at $ 27.3 million the first season. The former star of the University of Arizona should be interested in the Dallas Mavericks, Indiana Pacers and Phoenix Suns despite his restricted status, said a source at The Undefeated. The native of San Jose, California, is open minded to end the free agency quickly if the Magic makes a strong offer. Gordon is only 22, but the magic could be against rushing themselves.
The Magic obviously saw a ton of potential in Gordon because the team selected him with the fourth pick at the 2014 NBA draft. Gordon would be a huge addition to the Lakers if they were to sign it to a mbadive offer sheet, but it is likely that the Magic should seriously think about matching such an offer sheet. Considering Gordon's explosiveness and versatility, he certainly has a bright future in the NBA since he's only 22 years old.
Los Angeles obviously does due diligence in the free agent market in the form of showing interest to players like Capela and Gordon. If Randle does not return to the Lakers, the landing of a player like Capela or Gordon would be a sensational replacement
