Drinking coffee prolongs life, even when it is consumed a lot. A study published by Lancet Internal Medicine found that mortality decreases by 12%, even in those most sensitive to the effects of caffeine.
The National Cancer Institute studied data from nearly 500,000 Britons, subjecting them to questionnaires on coffee consumption and genetic testing. One-third of participants drank two to three cups a day, while 10,000 had more than eight cups a day.
