The team today is the Oakland Raiders. . Oakland Raiders

Offensive Preview

The productivity of this attack will depend on how Derek Carr works with Jon Gruden. It's possible that Gruden helps him bounce back in his 2016 form, but it's also possible that both do not hear and that Carr's development is halted. Whatever the case may be, it is certain that the relationship between these two people will greatly affect the rest of this team for years to come.

Even though there are shared opinions about Carr, he should be able to improve since his performance of 2017. The Raiders have added a protection badist pbad with Kolton Miller thanks to the repechage, while adding a veteran receiver to Jordy Nelson to help replace Michael Crabtree. The additions of these two players will help Carr, but I doubt that this is enough to bring this team back to the playoffs.

A position of optimism is their backfield, which will be led by Marshawn Lynch. Expect Lynch to be productive this season. He will be behind one of the best offensive lines of football, and will know better this offense the second year. Raiders have more than Lynch, though. With veterans Doug Martin and Jalen Richard, it will be a deep backfield.

The Raiders were smart to add Nelson, but they also lost Crabtree. The loss of Crabtree will cancel the addition of Nelson and, therefore, this recipient body has not improved or worse since last year.

The best acquisition the Raiders made during this offseason was not Nelson, but rather Martavis Bryant. If Bryant stays out of trouble, he could be a real difference maker in this offense. Do not forget the addition of Ryan Switzer either.

The two strongest players in this receiving body will be Amari Cooper and Jared Cook. There is still reason to believe in Cooper despite his mediocre performance in 2017, and Cook has the potential to be one of the best football teams this season. If Cooper and Nelson bounce, this body might be scary.

The Raiders have one of the best and most experienced offensive lines in the league. The pairing of Donald Penn and Kolton Miller will bring a good balance between experienced veterans and future strikers, while the domestic offensive line will feature three experienced starters. The best player will be again Kelechi Osemele

This is an experienced attack, but they can be a year or two away from chemistry with a new trainer in town

Defensive Preview

The Raiders & # 39; The defense is talented in a few places, but this unit desperately needs improvement in many areas. The Raiders have had the opportunity in this latest version to add a future difference factor to their defense with someone like Derwin James, Roquan Smith or Tremaine Edmunds, but they have missed out on this opportunity.

The defensive line is mediocre right now, despite the fact that they have Khalil Mack. Mario Edwards Jr. has potential, but he is the only veteran besides Mack, I believe at this moment on this defensive line. I love the draft picks of Arden Key and Maurice Hurst, but they both feel like being fast-growing players. The Mack hold-up will certainly not help this defensive line either.

One of the strengths is the body of the linebackers. Bruce Irvin and Tahir Whitehead are both dominant playmakers who will particularly help this team in their support of the race. The addition of multi-time Derrick Johnson will not hurt either, he will provide leadership to a defense that badly needs it.

This secondary school has potential, but also many elements attached to it. The cornerback club has two potential players impact at Gareon Conley and Rashaan Melvin, but there is a chance that both corners are struggling this season.

The star player to watch is safety Karl Joseph, who will be paired with veteran Reggie Nelson. This body of security has potential, as long as Joseph meets expectations and Nelson's age does not reach him.

The Raiders defense has some talented players, but too many holes for me to believe. It will certainly be fun to see Khalil Mack in a contract year

Coaching staff / front office preview

I would temper your expectations with this team of Raiders coaches this season. Jon Gruden has been out of training for a long time, and it will be harder for many people to switch from the broadcast booth to the sideline after 10 years of training.

Gruden is a good coach, but he may need a year to get back to work before he's fully ready to bring that team back to the playoffs. Fortunately for him, he should have a good staff around him. This coaching staff includes two experienced coordinators on both sides of the ball with Greg Olson and Paul Guenther, as well as two experienced offensive coaches in Edgar Bennett and Tom Cable.

The situation of the front office is worrying at the moment. If Reggie McKenzie had total control over the personnel department, there would be reasons to be very optimistic, but reports from Mike Freeman of Bleacher Report said that Gruden had a "consolidated power" in the front office of Raiders

to Raiders fans. McKenzie released the Raiders from the Davis doldrums and recruited players such as Amari Cooper, Derek Carr, Gabe Jackson and Khalil Mack, as well as Bruce Irvin, Donald Penn, Jared Cook, Kelechi Osemele and Rodney Hudson.

All the players listed above helped revive the Raiders, and give less power to the man who did it all reminds me of what the Eagles did with Howie Roseman a few years ago . History repeats itself, and if you learned anything from Chip Kelly's controversial tenure in Philadelphia, coaches should be coaches and scouts should head the personnel department

General Outlook for 2018

The Raiders have talent, but too many distractions and holes in their list for me to believe in them this season. The AFC West is incredibly difficult and the Raiders' lineup does not match the other teams in their division.
