PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Who needs revenge anyway?
Shea Patterson had 260 yards and three touchdowns and Michigan, No. 4, spent the day under control in Rutgers, under the net of the Scarlet Knights, 42-7, for a ninth consecutive victory. Division.
The Wolverines (9-1, 7-0) will return to Michigan Stadium for their last Saturday home game against Indiana.
Smooth Patterson
Despite a strong wind for most of the day, Patterson was effective and under control throughout the game in the pocket.
He finished the game 18 of 27 for 260 yards and three goals, scoring Nico Collins on a 36-yard wide open pbad in the first half before making a couple of scoring throws in the third quarter.
On his 16-yard touchdown pbad to Oliver Martin, Patterson took out his pocket of a broken game before throwing Martin open in the corner of the end zone.

Later in the game, he managed a perfect shot in Collins' hands in the back of the end zone for 10 yards.
The Michigan offensive line protected Patterson well throughout the match, as the Wolverines did not run either. An easy day, no doubt.
Donovan Peoples-Jones finished with five catches for 83 yards. Collins had three receptions for 56 yards and two scores.
Defensive Regulations
UM's defense was burned during a game in the first half, an 80-yard run of Isaih Pacheco who saw a few missed badignments at once at the line of scrimmage and at the same time. ;back.
His touch equalized the game, 7-7, in the first quarter. Michigan scored the next 35.
But aside from this game, the longest match Rutgers had during his Big Ten run, U-M's defense has always been successful with the Knights.
Quarterback Artur Sitkowski was 2 of 6 for zero first half pbades. The longest pbad of the day was taken by Pacheco 19 yards.

Michigan saw some defensive bumps and blues, while cornerback Lavert Hill left the game in the first half with an undisclosed injury and did not return. Defensive end Kwity Paye also left the match due to an arm injury.
Safety at the start, Josh Metellus warmed up, but did not play. Defensive tackle Sophomore Aubrey Solomon did not make the trip.
QB Shuffle
The response to Michigan's backup situation has been delivered.
After Patterson launched his third touchdown in the third quarter, U-M joined Brandon Peters, second year in third year, for the first round of the fourth quarter. That lasted one pbad, while Chris Evans cashed 61 yards for a touchdown.
A freshman, Joe Milton took the next series. Milton has now played two games this season and can keep his red jersey in only two other games. But not more.
The Wolverines lost quarterback Dylan McCaffrey, injured a collarbone, last week.
Neither Milton nor Peters tried to pbad.
Great season
Offensive halfback Karan Higdon was mostly used in the first period, but he pbaded the 1,000-yard mark.
Higdon is the first Michigan to return to the race for 1,000 yards in a season since Fitzgerald Toussaint in 2011. He is the second since Mike Hart in 2007.
With 42 yards rushing Saturday, Higdon will start Week 11 with 1005 yards.
