It's official: the 76ers have acquired Jimmy Butler, unhappy Timberwolves.

After months of speculation and rumors that the 29 year old player was less and less satisfied with the role played by the Timberwolves, Butler will head to the 76ers, announced Monday the teams.

To convince Butler of the Timberwolves, the Sixers had to make a difficult call by abandoning Robert Covington and Dario Saric. The Six were more than just beginners, but respected teammates and fan favorites, according to the Sixers.

Jerryd Bayless and a second round pick of 2022 have also been included in the trade, as has the great man from Minnesota, Justin Patton, chosen 16th of the 2017 draft.

Butler and the Sixers hope to reach an agreement on a long-term contract this summer, according to ESPN. Butler still has two years in the five-year contract signed in 2015 by the Bulls Group for $ 92 million. He was traded to the Timberwolves before last season. However, Butler may choose not to participate after this season.

Butler averaged 22.2 points, 5.3 rebounds and 4.9 badists last season for Minnesota, which made the playoffs for the first time since 2004.

Butler has participated in 10 of 13 Timberwolves games this season and is the team's top scorer (21.3 points per game).

Butler should make his debut with the 76ers on Wednesday against the Magic in Orlando, ESPN reported.
