The Magic, Hornets and Bulls have agreed conditions on a three-team swap, as Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reported. In the transaction, Orlando will acquire Timofey Mozgov and Jerian Grant; Charlotte will acquire Bismack Biyombo and Chicago will acquire Julyan Stone. It's more a matter of accounting than a basketball shot, but note the deal for each team involved.

Consider this offer as an extension of Charlotte's latest. It was not even three weeks ago, the Hornets exchanged Dwight Howard against Mozgov, two draft picks and money considerations. Here they move Mozgov for Biyombo, a marginally more playable playable, a rebounder and a shooter who should play center-back behind Cody Zeller. The initial decision to add a year of inflated salary (Howard was then on an expiring contract, while Mozgov – and Biyombo – were under contract until 2020) was strange, but here the Hornets have at least succeeded to extract a few extra drops of the basketball value. The loss of Julyan Stone, who did not have much of a future with the team after a disappointing season, only represented a real cost.
Biyombo has a little more sense for a team looking to win matches next season that Mozgov would be at a slightly higher price. That said, the question remains whether the Hornets should have worried about these exchanges – whether the two second-round picks and the money they've received Nets in the deal Howard's initials were definitely better than having a salary for next season. What makes sense in micro can still be confusing in macro.

Biyombo's contract reaches $ 72 million over four years during the 2016 spending spree- was the sin of a former regime . Chicago effectively traded one backup guard for another – or, really, a guaranteed contract for an unsecured. While Grant was to reap $ 2.6 million next season, Stone's salary may be completely wiped out if he is released before August 1st. The Bulls may be too frugal at times, but that sounds pragmatic; After Grant's two-year trial, it made sense that both parties continue to move forward.
