Chris Paul wants "Big Three" Rockets by adding Melo

Chris Paul is a good friend of Carmelo Anthony and hopes that the Houston Rockets will bring the veteran scorer to form a new "Big Three".

Last season was pretty good for the Houston Rockets. Led by their two superstars, James Harden and Chris Paul, as well as a strong support team of Clint Capela and PJ Tucker, the Rockets have won 65 NBA games.

Following this, Houston hired the vicious Golden State Warriors juggernaut back and forth in the final of the Western Conference, falling in Game 7 and just missing a trip to the NBA Finals. If an injury had not removed Paul before the series was over, the Rockets may have faced LeBron James and the Cavaliers in the finals instead of the Warriors.

Now that the 2018 playoffs are a thing of the past, Paul is thinking of next season. He has just signed a new four-year contract with the Rockets, and now, according to Jordan Schultz of Yahoo Sports he wants to add another star to the list – his good friend, veteran Carmelo Anthony – to help to push Houston on the hump that they just missed this time.

This is an NBA basketball era in which rival teams often build a "Big Three" to help them win The titles and the addition of Anthony to the mix in Houston would just give that to the Rockets. Anthony was part of a Big Three before; he spent last season with the Oklahoma City Thunder, working with Russell Westbrook and Paul George.

Unfortunately for Anthony, this Big Three did not work; things have not really clicked between the three and the Thunder has been eliminated in six games by Utah climber Utah Jazz in the first round of the playoffs. In Houston, however, things could be different.

Anthony would join a team that is about to win an NBA championship, and although he is 34, he is about as experienced as he can be. He has averaged 24.1 points over 15 NBA seasons, but the playoff victory has been something that Anthony has always struggled to do.

Melo could rewrite history with the Rockets because it could be the piece they need to finally overthrow the Warriors and he could finally have the chance to win this championship ring that he has missed for so long.
