Clemson is ranked in the top two in most pre-season polls and looks set to return to the college football playoffs.
Here are the three most important games for the 2018 season:
October 27 – The winner of this game has won the ACC Atlantic over the last nine seasons and the # 39, ACC over the past seven years. Clemson opened as a 10-point favorite over the Seminoles when the first college football lines were released in May. The FSU is the most talented team the Tigers will face in the regular season and the Doak Campbell Stadium is a tough place to play.
Boston College, November 10 – Clemson's toughest four-week season The season ends with a trip to Boston College on November 10. The Tigers face NC State, Florida State, Louisville and Boston College in consecutive weeks in late October and early November. The Eagles had a record of 7-6 last year with a win against FSU. The Eagles have also won four of their last five regular season games. Boston College returns offensive midfielder AJ Dillon, who was named ACC's Rookie of the Year last season after winning 1,589 yards, ranking seventh in the country
South Carolina, 24 November – ranked in the top 25 post-spring ESPN on the Clemson calendar. The Gamebads were 9-4 last season and return veteran quarterback Jake Bentley and some talented receivers, led by veteran Deebo Samuel. You can argue that Texas A & M play in Week 2 is a tougher game, but the Tigers can still reach the playoff with a loss for the Aggies they win. Losing in South Carolina would certainly cost Clemson a place in the playoffs, in addition to preventing the Tigers from extending the USC winning streak to five games.
