Daron Payne will be away for a few weeks due to an injury to the early training camp

Follow my blog from the Redskins live training camp, continuously updated throughout the practice on the sidelines of the scope of practice. Check back regularly and refresh it for the latest news.

-The Redskins take off the leggings today, wearing epaulettes. It should be fun.

-There was rain during the night but the fields were covered so there should be a lot of foot problems. It looks like the sidelines are soggy, which is a problem for the media, but that probably does not interest you.

– We will soon have a story on Daron Payne, Jay Gruden said that he was in a boot on foot for about a week after he rolled his ankle to practice yesterday. You hate to see injuries so early in the camp, especially with a rookie who has a lot to learn, but right now this seems like a minor problem.

-Referenced to return pits early were Greg Stroman, Jamison Crowder, Danny Johnson, Trey Quinn and Maurice Harris. It's the same group that was there during the OTAs

– a subtle difference between Robert Davis and Maurice Harris. At the top of a dig road, it took three quick steps to Davis to change direction. Harris was able to make the cut with two quick steps. Again, it is subtle but it counts on the field with both opponents for a spot on the lineup.

– It does not help Davis either that he just dropped a middle pbad that was in his hands and Harris caught the same ball.

– Jordan Reed looks very fluid during the exercises today. It's only day 3 so it's too early to be too enthusiastic. But remember that a year ago he was on the PUP list and never completely healthy so fans could appreciate the progress.

-I am making a revised projection of 53 players on Monday and I think Byron Marshall is going to be there.

-Brandon Scherff rose slowly after a running game. Do not worry, he returned to caucus in the next room.

– The Redskins play games with middle back Elijah Wellman. He is the only FB on the list. I know that many of you would organize a party if they kept a complete back, but Wellman is very far away.

-Josh Doctson caught a pbad over the middle and as the game ended, he dropped the ball and Orlando Scandrick recovered.

-Nice pbadage by Smith. He tied the ball just above Fabian Moreau's outstretched hand. The pbad fell into the hands of Paul Richardson on the sideline.

I did not write much about Richardson. He has the potential to be a very popular player. He is very nice and he is as productive as it looks like he can be a fan will love him.

-An other ball on the floor, Rob Kelley's in the middle of the line. It was not where he could have relaxed because the game was over. Zach Brown recovered.

– Smith's mobility is visible again. He rolled to the right and found Crowder deep, who took a few steps on Montae Nicholson. The pbad was perfect and Crowder rolled up to the end zone.

-Nice pbades from Smith to Doctson, who pbaded in the middle. A defender took a ball into the ball at the end of a play and this time Doctson held on. It's one thing to make a mistake, but it's important to correct it the second time you're in the same situation.

-We are done with the live part of the cover here. There is still a little practice time and I will add something important that arrives at the blog here.
