DENVER – Bruce Bochy shook his head for a number of reasons when Madison Bumgarner's hand was broken during his last start in the spring. The manager returned to Bumgarner's domination and what this season could be for the Big Fella.
Bochy's vision comes true, not under the wet and changeable spring sky, but in the heat (and sometimes the fog) of June and July
Bumgarner did not win at Coors Field on Monday night . In fact, he and the Giants suffered a 5-2 defeat that had to be frustrating given the nature of Colorado's decisive three-round rally in the seventh inning.
However, another superb effort on the mound provided more evidence than it could have been from Bumgarner
The southpaw extended his 22-run series into four starts before the fateful seventh inning. a game the Giants had led from the first pitch, when Gorkys Hernandez beat Kyle Freeland. Buster Posey hit a RBI double in third
Bumgarner lost his streak and his 2-0 lead amid a hail of scratching, a rookie rookie who could not launch strikes and a Brandon Crawford's throw error A 2-2 draw in the seventh inning of a game that the Giants had led from the first pitch.

Bumgarner's shot at the end of the game ends after Pat Valaika, DJ LeMahieu and Charlie Blackmon qualify for the seventh. LeMahieu hit a right bloop, Blackmon a dribbler on the infield
Bochy finished Bumgarner's play after 89 shots, a decision likely influenced by the fact that he had not removed Nolan Arenado in four platform appearances. Reyes Moronta will face the biggest baseball killer with the bases loaded and no one will come out.
Moronta walked Arenado over five lengths to halve the Giants' advance. Moronta seemed to avoid disaster, even though the tie-up scored when Trevor Story dug into a double play, and then inducted Ian Desmond a-hopperper for what should have been the third outing.
But Crawford sailed his pitch Blackon scored from third to give the Rockies the lead
Colorado scored twice more than Ty Blach in the eighth to seal it.
Bumgarner did not have an easy time. extending his scoreless series early in the game. The Rockies loaded the bases in the first and third legs. He made a good pitch to escape the old. Left fielder Austin Slater saved his bacon on the latter.
Slater ran and slipped to catch what looked like a Chris Iannetta single. Three points would have scored if Slater had scored what would become the third withdrawal
Slater had already made a much harder decision to steal at least two goals from Noel Cuevas in the second inning
Young legs, right? The Giants did not escape the heat when they left Phoenix. The game temperature was 92 degrees with 11 percent humidity. The altitude was stable at a mile high
The overtaking on home runs under these conditions at Coors would have been anchored to "sweet mother of the creation" if it was not for the moment. confrontation as-against-ace.
Hernandez, who declared himself fit after throwing a foul on his ankle on Sunday, sent Freeland 's outside corner back in the stands for his eleventh home run. [
] 1965-9002] The Giants took a 2-0 lead over a Coors Field double by Posey, a short-stop striker Trevor Story was inches away from the stop but took a long time to reach fielder Charlie Blackmon because of his depth.
The latter, traveling for four lengths of 3-2, had no difficulty in scoring first.
