History
L & # 3939; This event evokes the custom it held in the countryside in the middle of the nineteenth century, but that could have an even more distant origin, of which there is no certain testimony. The Palio was then disputed among the most important agricultural estates, which represented the whole country. In the 1960s, due to the depopulation of the countryside to neighboring cities, the initiative was interrupted. Filming in 1976, with new neighborhoods, since the spirit of party tradition never went out.
The Program
This year, the Palio will take place on Sunday, July 8; during the week various events will be organized. Friday 6, at 9 pm, presentation of the Drappellone painted by the artists Sara and Nello Guerrini. The two painters, father and daughter, were very happy to have received the order for the construction of the Palio di Casole delsa, after having begun to make the rags of Palio di SantAnselmo Bomarzo (VT) and that of Palio neighborhoods of San Secondo Parmense (PR).
It Cencio is not just something aesthetic – say the two artists – but tells the story of a country and its secular and religious traditions; it must best represent the identity of the country, its territories and its traditions. On this occasion will also be presented the project for the global redevelopment of the track and the area of about 4 hectares . Important interventions are planned both for the safety of the road and for the development of the whole area, which will become one of the pulsating hearts of Casole and its territory, as the Administration makes known by a press note.
The relevant news – it adds – will be the presence, as sown of the six batteries, most important and qualified jockeys of Siena who shared the project to relaunch the Palio di Casole with the Municipality and the Contrade. 19659006] On Saturday morning, the competitive part of the event will begin with the conflict of qualifying batteries which will determine the horses that will be allocated by lot to the districts at 12:00 in Piazza della Libert; in the evening, traditional dinners in different neighborhoods. On Sunday, the big party begins with the historic parade of the districts at 11:00, the mbad (11:30). In the afternoon, from 17.00, Procession of districts and badignment of Vessillo to the district which will be distinguished in the representation of flag-wavers and tambourines ; the blessing of horses at 18:15 and around 19:00 will be the time of the Palio race . After alfresco dinner in the historic center and show fireworks .
