The Mediterranean transplant network works.

Last night, the life of a 7-year-old boy from the Cuneo province of Moroccan origin was saved thanks to a liver given even in Greece to Crete.

The intervention, performed by the team of Professor Mauro Salizzoni (Director of the Liver Transplant Center of Molinette Hospital of the City of Turin), lasted approximately 8:30 am and is technically unsuccessful. The child was suffering from cryptogenic cirrhosis and is now in intensive care (Dr. Pier Paolo Donadio).

Yesterday morning, part of the group of the same team left for Greece by plane, with the support of Piemontese 118, to take the organ donated by a child of the same age who died in a car accident .

In the afternoon until the evening, the transplant took place at Molinette Hospital in Turin. Perfect, as always, also the work of the Coordination of the Regional Transplant Center of the city of Turin, led by Professor Antonio Amoroso.

Everything worked perfectly. A great gesture for a great story of international significance, just at a time when there is a lot of discussion about migrants.
The Molinette liver transplant activity continues unabated.

In the morning, the third transplant took place in the last 24 hours
