LeBron James free agency: Sixers to meet LeBron representatives, but James will not be there, a report says

Early Sunday we learned that a surprise team, the Denver Nuggets, was desperately trying to have a meeting with LeBron James. It's unclear how lucky the Nuggets are to have this hearing, but another team is holding a meeting – well, sort of.

MORE FREE AGENCY

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the Philadelphia 76ers will meet with James' team in Los Angeles on Sunday. "The King", however will not be present.

The Sixers have long been one of the teams at the forefront of the LeBron Sweepstake, and for many reasons. Not only are they one of the few teams with ceiling space to actually sign James this summer, but they have a young ultra-talented duo in Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid. In addition, James has a good relationship with Simmons.

However, his absence from the meeting does not seem to bode well for the chances of the Sixers. You never really know what James thinks, but if he really wanted to be on the Sixers, would not he be at the meeting to hear what they had to say for himself? He never delegated his responsibilities and always wanted to get as much information as possible before making a decision.

This is more like James and his side, giving the Sixers a courtesy meeting and because of his relationship with Simmons. But we will see. Things can always change quickly during the free agency, and maybe if James is intrigued by what his representatives hear, he could arrange another meeting for himself.
