LeBron James' decision to leave the Cavaliers for the Free Trade Lakers this summer changes a lot. First, it leaves the power structure of the East open to combat. Second, and perhaps most notable, it makes the challenge of the West more difficult .
This is a huge power change that makes the Lakers a force to be reckoned with, especially for the conference produced four of the last five NBA champions. Yet Warrior coach Steve Kerr, who is responsible for training three of these titles during this period, is not worried about it.
"I'm not going to think about it because I have my own team to worry about." Kerr said in a large-scale reaction piece released by ESPN over the weekend.
Even though the LeBron Lakers are instant contenders, Kerr is right. He has enough on his plate. In addition to flying the ship of one of the best dynasties in the NBA, he has to deal with the rotation, integrate the youth into the Warriors system, avoid complacency and understand how DeMarcus Cousins s & ## 39 will integrate into the program after -Star joined the team as a free agent this summer.
Kerr may need to think about LeBron's decision later. If the latest Westgate Las Vegas Superbook NBA title odds are of any indication as to the upcoming season, the Lakers have a shot to push Golden State into the West, with odds of LA currently ranks fourth at 8-1, behind the odds-on favorite Golden State at 1-2, Boston at 5-1 and Houston at 6-1. They have a chance to be an immediate thorn in Kerr camp, so LeBron can replicate his final-level success that he has supported for nearly a decade.
Although Kerr is not stunned by the excitement elicited by the arrival of LeBron in the City of Stars, the new Lakers teammate Josh Hart is quite. He told ESPN that his real immediate reaction was a festival of joy laden with explosions
"Uhh, holy s —!" Hart said, recalling the moment when LeBron declared his intentions to sign with the Lakers. "I was like," Wow! "Of course, there was a lot of speculation [all season] but for this to really happen, you do not have the opportunity to often play with the best player in the world. "To have something like that, it was just crazy.
Not everyone agrees with LeBron's move to the Lakers, but everyone seems to have an opinion – good or bad – anyway, LeBron seems to be content with his decision, saying this weekend that it was "a bit like a dream come true" to join the Lakers.
