Mitch Trubisky and Bears offense rolling with 26-0 lead against Lions in 2nd quarter

Bears quarterback Mitch Trubisky scored on a 4-yard touchdown run to put the Bears ahead 26-0 against the Lions with 8:14 to play in the second quarter.

Lions linebacker Jarrad Davis was called for a personal foul for shoving Trubisky out of bounds following a 6-yard run on the drive. That brought the Bears to the 6-yard line.

Bears cornerback Bryce Callahan picked off Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford and returned it to the Lions’ 18-yard line to start the drive.

Miller’s TD catch adds to Bears lead; Parkey misses another PAT

Bears quarterback Mitch Trubisky threw a 45-yard touchdown pbad to Anthony Miller early in the second quarter.

Miller caught it at the 25-yard line, broke Lions safety Glover Quin’s tackle and went the rest of the way untouched.

Bears kicker Cody Parkey missed a second extra-point attempt, off the left upright, so the Bears pulled ahead 19-0.

Trubisky to Robinson puts Bears up 13-0

Mitch Trubisky’s 36-yard touchdown pbad to Allen Robinson gave the the Bears a 13-0 lead against the Lions with 38 seconds to play in the first quarter.

The play came on third-and-15, two plays after safety Quandre Diggs broke up Trubisky’s pbad to a diving Taylor Gabriel in the end zone.

Robinson beat cornerback DeShawn Shead to the end zone for his first touchdown since Oct. 14 against the Dolphins.

The Bears sacked Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford twice on the Lions’ first drive. Bryce Callahan took him down for a loss of 9 yards. And on third and 9 at the Bears’ 29, rookie linebacker Roquan Smith took Stafford down for a loss of 8 yards.

Bears score on opening drive, miss PAT

Bears quarterback Mitch Trubisky completed all five of his pbades on his first drive Sunday as the Bears took a 6-0 lead against the Lions.

Bears running back Tarik Cohen scored on a 3-yard touchdown run, but kicker Cody Parkey missed the extra-point attempt off the right upright.

The Bears’ scoring drive included a 35-yard pbad from Trubisky to Allen Robinson, who was active for the first time in three games after recovering from a groin injury.

Return of Mack and Robinson

Bears outside linebacker Khalil Mack and wide receiver Allen Robinson are active for the first time in three games as the Bears host the Lions on Sunday at Soldier Field.

Mack and Robinson sat out the Bears’ previous two victories against the Jets and Bills with an ankle and a groin injury. But they will bolster the Bears lineup Sunday in the first of three NFC North games in 12 days.

Defensive lineman Bilal Nichols (knee) and tight end Ben Braunecker (concussion) are also back in action after missing last week’s game. Wide receiver Taylor Gabriel (knee) and offensive lineman Eric Kush (neck) also are active after being limited by injuries in practice last week.

Wide receiver Kevin White is inactive for the second straight week after he was held out against the Bills for performance reasons. Rookie wide receiver Javon Wims also is inactive.

Tight end Dion Sims is inactive with a concussion. Cornerback Marcus Cooper, outside linebacker Kylie Fitts, offensive lineman Rashaad Coward, defensive lineman Nick Williams were healthy scratches for the Bears.

Lions starting cornerback Darius Slay and right guard T.J. Lang are both out with injuries, as is linebacker Eli Harold. Offensive lineman Andrew Donnal, tight end Luke Willson, linebacker Jalen Reeves-Maybin and wide receiver Bruce Ellington are also inactive.
