Skepticism within the industry that #Nationals will trade Harper. Idea MAY make sense if Nats could get a SP in return, acquire Realmuto from #Marlins and play Soto in LF, Eaton in RF and Michael Taylor in CF. But by source, Realmuto speaks with MIA not yet active.

The Nationals Harper trading talks surfaced last week with Washington slipping out of the playoffs. At 52-53, the Nationals occupy third place in the National League East, six games from first place Phillies. Washington is eighth in the NL wild card race
Harper will become a free agent after the season and will certainly not re-sign with the Nationals. So, if Washington feels that there is no hope for the playoffs this year, having Harper trade up until Tuesday's deadline would ensure something in return to the reigning Home Run Derby Champion
