All signs indicate that the San Antonio Spurs will be forced to swap Kawhi Leonard at some point this summer, and that the Los Angeles Lakers will make a logical landing for the All-Star striker, after signing LeBron James at four … contract worth $ 153 million at the beginning of this month.
However, the Lakers are far from the only contender for Leonard's services, and other stars such as Carmelo Anthony are also available this summer for teams such as the Sixers, Dallas Mavericks and Houston Rockets that could be on the market.
Here is an overview of the latest rumors about the free trade and agencies of the NBA:
The Lakers are in no hurry to trade for Leonard?
While the addition of Leonard and James would create a formidable duo to challenge the Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference, the Lakers do not seem in a hurry to put the key under the door: 19659005] According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN On his podcast, the Lakers do not seem to feel a sense of urgency when exchanging for Leonard:
"Until now, in commercial discussions, the Lakers have not shown a sense of urgency to make an exchange with Kawhi Leonard. 19659011]
Could the Raptors fall and land Leonard?
The Toronto Raptors were eliminated by LeBron James' former team, the Cleveland Cavaliers, in the semifinals of the 2018 Eastern Conference, but the exchanges for Leonard could put them in charge after the move from James West:
outside; Zach Lowe of ESPN has ranked Toronto as a mysterious team and money bets mbadively arrives on the Raptors – but if the Lakers 'and Sixers' offers cool off, this could be the best end point for the Raptors, Spurs and Leonard:
An ideal situation for the team and its fans is to land a high quality talent and collect coins to develop. Landing DeRozan, Wright, Anunoby and another protected choice provides them with a future and one now.
Of course, San Antonio should only do this business if it is necessary. There may be better deals at stake unless teams are reluctant to deal with key players. Brandon Ingram is the price if the Lakers are ready to trade for an outsized lead with the potential to lead the league in scoring someday. Markelle Fultz of the Sixers should be a secondary option.
