Ohio State quarterback Dwayne Haskins will likely need to play at his Heisman Trophy candidate peak Saturday in order to help the Buckeyes claim a must-win game against Michigan State in East Lansing.
Haskins had been one of the nation’s highest regarded signal-callers when he led impressive wins over TCU and Penn State earlier in the season, but the sophomore has been inconsistent over the past few weeks, struggling at times to make up for an Ohio State defense that was overwhelmed by Purdue and Nebraska.

Michigan State has allowed just 11 pbading touchdowns this year — and recorded 12 interceptions — making this a difficult matchup for Haskins to rebound.
The Spartans, led by their stout defense and a capable run game, upset Penn State earlier this season. Can they earn another ranked victory and eliminate Ohio State from College Football Playoff contention?

3:03 p.m.: An Ohio State field goal gives Urban Meyer’s squad a 19-6 advantage.
3 p.m.: Michigan State loses another fumble.
2:55 p.m.: Touchdown. Michigan State snaps the ball into a receiver in motion in its own end zone, and Ohio State jumps on the football for the score. The Buckeyes now lead 16-6.

2:28 p.m.: Field goal. Michigan State cuts its deficit to one, though the Spartans could have taken the lead if their touchdown wasn’t taken away by a penalty. Ohio State is up 7-6.
2:22 p.m.: Wow. Michigan State has a touchdown wiped off the board for ineligible receiver downfield.
2:21 p.m.: Finally a big play for the Spartans! A 47-yard run has them in business.
2:07 p.m.: Michigan State forces a stop to begin the second half, but the Spartans are now backed up deep in their own territory.

1:35 p.m.: Michigan State’s Matt Coghlin nails a 44-yard field goal with 30 seconds to go in the half. After nearly two quarters of scoreless football, both teams are now on the board.

12:22 p.m.: A terrible punt by Ohio State means the Spartans will start their second possession near midfield.
12:16 p.m.: Now Michigan State will punt. It’s been a positive start for Ohio State’s defense.
12:10 p.m.: The Spartans go for it on fourth-and-1 inside their own territory, and they barely get it. The Buckeyes thought they had a stop.
12:07 p.m.: Kickoff. Michigan State gets the ball first.
