The NFL has confirmed the suspension of Julian Edelman on appeal, awarding the wide receiver of the New England Patriots to the first four games of the 2018 season, reported Tuesday the newspaper Adam Schefter of ESPN.
Edelman received the suspension after violating the NFL's performance-enhancing substance policy.
The MMQB Albert Breer reported in June the substance for which Edelman tested positive "was not immediately recognizable."
According to ESPN Dan Graziano, this has been a part of the basis of his call. The appeal also related to an alleged "mismanagement of documentation and delivery" of his findings

With Edelman, the Patriots will be relying on a combo of Chris Hogan, Jordan Matthews, Phillip Dorsett, Kenny Britt, Malcolm Mitchell, Cordarrelle Patterson , Braxton Berrios, Riley McCarron and Cody Hollister for the first month. WR will be very competitive this summer.
The suspension is also a setback for Edelman while he comes back from a torn LCA that ends late in the season. His last competitive game was the Super Bowl LI in February 2017, when he caught five pbades for 87 yards in a 34-28 win over the Atlanta Falcons.
The Patriots added Cordarrelle Patterson and Jordan Matthews off season and selected Braxton Berrios in the sixth round of the NFL project. Kenny Britt also begins his first full season in New England
With four Edelman games, the opportunity presents itself to someone to play a leading role in the pbading game of the Patriots.
