RoboCop returns: Neill Blomkamp will direct the new film for MGM

At the beginning of the year we learned that Edward Neumeier co-author of RoboCop of 1987 with Michael Miner, developed a script for a new project that should start from the events of the film Paul Verhoeven

Today, we discover that MGM has given the green light to a new film RoboCop confident at Neill Blomkamp director of District 9 Elysium and Humandroid .

The study also commissioned Justin Rhodes (author of Tim Miller's Terminator ) to rewrite the script developed by Neumeier and Miner.
