Texas A & M Aggies attracted one of the top 100 players in the 2019 category on Saturday. Mansfield legacy halfback HS Jeffery Carter is engaged to the Aggies, giving new head coach Jimbo Fisher the 23rd firm commitment for the 2019 cycle.

Carter announced his commitment to the Ags via Twitter.

Carter joins an already busy group heading to College Station next year. He is the 12th player in the clbad to score four stars or more, with 11 four-star players and one five-star player, which is an offensive tackle Kenyon Green . Not surprisingly, it is one of many in the state of Texas to join the Aggies. Carter becomes the 17th player of the Lone Star State to be engaged in A & M in this cycle.

As he enters his senior season, Carter is listed as both a cornerback and a wide receiver. At 6 feet tall and 186 pounds, he will probably need to strengthen a little before going to college. But, we've seen this kind of thing happen in the past, and it should be expected here too.

Before committing to the Aggies, Carter held offers from Alabama Crimson Tide, Oklahoma Sooners and Oregon Ducks, among many others.

As we mentioned, Jeffery Carter is a four star player via 247Sports Composite. He ranks 84th in the nation according to these rankings, 11th among all cornerbacks and 16th in the field loaded with Texas rookies. The Autonomous Sports Service, however, views Carter as a much higher prospect. They rank him 25th in the country and 3rd among both cornersbacks and rookies of Texas.

Jeffery Carter is expected to play in the All-American Bowl on January 5, 2019 as part of the West team. He will join the aforementioned Green, as well as the defensive tackle DeMarvin Leal while Aggie will participate in the event next year.

Jimbo Fisher builds something very important at College Station. With Carter in tow, the Aggies remain ranked as the country's 2nd best recruiting clbad for 2019. Only Alabama, which also has the best in the SEC of course, ranks higher at this stage.
