The New York Giants accepted a contract with Connor Barwin, the veteran linebacker confirmed Monday.

Barwin adds a much needed depth to the position and a quality veteran presence for the Giants.
He has a strong relationship with the coach of linebackers Bill McGovern since his stint in Philadelphia
He fought as a defender in a 4-3 system with the Eagles in 2016, but he returned to his Roots as 3-4 outside linebacker – and was reunited with defensive coordinator Wade Phillips – signing a one-year contract with the Los Angeles Rams last season.
Barwin missed a few weeks of the 2017 season as he was recovering from a break in the forearm series of 107 consecutive starts. He finished the season with five sacks and 34 tackles in 14 games.
Earlier in his career, Barwin, 31, was among the best rushers in history, compiling 41 sacks in 80 games for the Houston Texans. The Philadelphia Eagles from 2011 to 2015. Phillips previously coached Barwin as the Texans defensive coordinator during the 2011-12 seasons
for his career, Barwin has 54.5 sacks, 6 forced fumbles (four digs) and a interception.
