The move – and many of them – highlights the upcoming season-ending PGA Tour 2018-1919.

Start with The Players Championship, the flagship event of the Tour, which dates back to March from its May spot. The PGA Championship, for decades the last big of the year, moves in the month of May. And the FedExCup Playoffs, reduced from four to three events, therefore move at the end of August and before the start of the NFL football seasons and universities.

And two events – the Houston Open and a military tribute to the Greenbrier – is heading into the fall and will be played soon as part of the 2019-2020 season

The Tour released the Schedule of 46 events on Tuesday.

"We are extremely pleased with the way the calendar came together, especially with the number of changes that have been involved and the strength of the partnerships needed to achieve this new look," said Jay Monahan, PGA Commissioner. Tour, in a press release

"In late August, the FedExCup playoffs no longer have the challenge of sharing the stage with college and professional football. This will enhance the visibility of the FedExCup playoffs. We have created a calendar that will increase interest for all tournaments while still raising the FedExCup Playoffs. "

The playoffs are now three events and will be contested for consecutive weeks. The annual stopover of Boston, who played as the second playoff event the first 11 years of the playoffs, moves from 2020 in a rotation every two years with the New York region, which hosts the first event each year. The Playoffs will begin with the Northern Trust from August 8 to 11 at the New Jersey, will move to the Medinah Country Club of Chicago the following week and will end in Atlanta at East Lake Golf Club from August 22 to 25.

With the redesigned schedule, there is an eight-week stretch including the world championships of Golf-Mexico from February 21st to 24th. The Players Championship from March 14th to 17th, the WGC-Dell Technologies Match from March 27th to 31st and the Masters from April 11th to 14th. The other four events in this segment are also important to the players: the Honda Clbadic, the Arnold Palmer Invitational, the Valspar Championship and the Texas Open Valero.

Two of the most popular events of the season precede the eight-week course: AT & T Pebble Beach Pro-Am and the Genesis Open at the Riviera Country Club. In addition, RBC Heritage at Harbor Town Golf Links is still a week after the masters and has been a great success each year with players looking to unwind after the first major of the year.

There is also a six-week period 18-21 with the Open Championship at Royal Portrush in Northern Ireland. Next week, the last WGC event of the season, which is now moving from Akron to Memphis and will call the FedEx St. Jude Invitational, will be played. Next week is the Wyndham Championship, the last place for players to win a place in the FedExCup Playoffs. And then you have the playoffs.

Other important changes include the addition of two new events. The Rocket Mortgage Clbadic will be the first PGA event to be held in Detroit June 27-30 and will be followed by the 3M Open at TPC Twin Cities July 4-7.

The RBC Canadian Open leaves its traditional post late July to June 6-9, the week before the US Open.

The season begins the week after the 2018 Ryder Cup in France. The Safeway Open in Napa, California, will take place Oct. 4-7 and will kick off seven weeks and eight tournaments before the Tour takes a break in late November.

The schedule resumes the first week of January in Hawaii with the state of Aloha in two stages – the Sentry Tournament of Champions from January 3 to 6 and the Sony Open to Hawaii from the 10th to the 13th of January.
