The Home Policy of Italy and of Turin also goes through the transplant center, it still works more and more with an international network. Yesterday, a baby of Moroccan origin was saved with a liver donated to Greece. Seven years old, from the province of Cuneo, lives thanks to a liver given to Crete in Greece. The intervention, performed by the team of Mauro Salizzoni, director of the Liver Transplant Center of Molinette Hospital of the city of Turin, lasted about 8 ½ hours and is technically successful. The child was suffering from cryptogenic cirrhosis and is now hospitalized in the intensive care unit of Dr. Pier Paolo Donadio. Yesterday morning, part of the group of the same team left for Greece by plane, with the support of Piedmontese 118, to take the organ given by a child of the same age who died in a car accident. In the afternoon, the transplant took place at Molinette Hospital in Turin, which lasted until the evening. The work of the Coordination of the Regional Transplant Center of the City of Turin, directed by Antonio Amoroso, is fundamental.
The Molinette liver transplant activity continues unabated. In the morning, the third transplant took place in the last 24 hours.
