The MMA world was rocked Wednesday night when the highly anticipated UFC 226 bout between Max Holloway and Brian Ortega was announced.
Holloway (19-3 MMA, 15 -3 CFU) was hospitalized with concussion-like symptoms and deemed ineligible to compete on the card, scraping his fight against Ortega (14-0 MMA, 6-0 UFC) a few days later.
The reaction to the news has been overwhelming Unfortunately, many send their greetings to "Blessed". Check below for the most frequent Twitter responses to Holloway's ousting of UFC 226.

All the best to @BlessedMMA and wish him a prompt and complete recovery. Big fights are coming, but we only have one body. Health and safety are the most important things

"Flamboyant vision and speech disorders" do not sound good at all . Max Holloway is 26 years old. But had 18 UFC fights. 18! Fighting business is brutal and relentless.

I just had a conversation with @BrianTcity who took the news, well, like a champion. To paraphrase: he will not focus on things that he can not control. He remains focused in case a replacement fight comes, he has NO DOUBT that he and @BlessedMMA will one day make a show for the fans. # UFC226

This is scary. What we have engaged in training / fighting can have as many unknown consequences in the long run.
I wish a quick recovery to Max! https://t.co/ZRKIefdMK5

So many disappointing aspects to that for Holloway. Was set to get his biggest payday fight under this Miocic-DC, had a ton of Hawaiians travel coming to watch and so much more. That said, the merit of his team and the brbad of the UFC is to keep his best interests in mind.

There s is now making three straight withdrawals for Max Holloway in 2018. It's supposed to be "The Blessed Era". I hope his health is good. It is zero. Simon Samano (@SJSamano) July 5, 2018

As someone who knows very well the dangers of this sport, my thoughts and wishes are with @BlessedMMA and his family. Let's hope this happens quickly and we get to see him do what he does best soon.
