Ezekiel Elliott has not yet reached an agreement with the Cowboys, but he is ready to join his team.

"I was readyElliott said upon arriving at D / FW airport Tuesday night.

Agent Rocky Arceneaux flew with the star to the rear of Cabo San Lucas. He said the parties are "very, very close" to an agreement.

"They are engaged, and we are engaged," said Arceneaux, via a video of Mike Leslie of the WFAA. "That's the reason we're here."

Arceneaux was heading for further negotiations with the Cowboys in hopes of reaching an agreement in time to allow Elliott to train on Wednesday. The Cowboys will open the season Sunday against the Giants.

"I think Zeke showed his commitment by coming back to Dallas," said Arceneaux. "We did not come here to disagree. So, I think it's engaged, and both sides are. "

Dozens of journalists greeted Elliott in front of the customs. He signed autographs for fans but did not respond to media questions, his only comment being an answer to a fan question.

"It's tedious, but both sides have shown civility and he's thrilled to be back in Dallas," said Arceneaux. "The trip has been long, but he is excited."
