BALTIMORE – J.A. Happ came out for the fifth round on Saturday night with 75 shots and only one pass.
Cédric Mullins, a group of Jonathan Villar and a walk to Joey Rickard ended the night of Happ after only 4 ¹ / win.
This is hardly the workload expected of a launcher who has just signed a two-year contract for $ 34 million, but Happ, although not happy with its release, has understood the decision made by manager Aaron Boone in a 6-4 win over the Orioles at Camden Yards.
"It's the kind of game now," said Happ about the early release. "[I gave up] a ball on the ground and a walk. These decisions are made and that's a bit of a trend. I really think later [in the season]I will be on the field to finish this round and, hopefully, for the next one. "

With an exhausted rotation that puts Luis Severino and CC Severino on the injured list and the inexperienced duo of Domingo German and Jonathan Loaisiga, the Yankees can hardly afford to have mediocre excesses from Happ regularly.
In 31 starts a year ago, split between Toronto and the Yankees, Happ has not managed to score five innings just five times.
However, a well-equipped team was able to overcome Happ's difficult start, even after Holder and Adam Ottavino allowed Baltimore to take the lead with a fragile seventh inning.
Clint Frazier's double at the start of eighth place and Greg Bird's performance on Chris Davis' hard ground after Chad Green charged the goals with two late innings saved a win.
