Murray State second-year guard Ja Morant will declare himself for the draft NBA 2019 at a press conference on Wednesday, sources at ESPN confirmed.
Morant, whose electrical performance contributed to the Racers' first-round win over Marquette in the NCAA tournament, became Tuesday the first Murray State player to be named to the first Associated Press All-American team.
The 6-foot-3, 170-pound goalie is ESPN's # 2 prospect in the standings. He averaged 24.5 points, 10 assists in the nation and 5.7 rebounds per game.
Morant must make his announcement at 7 pm AND at the Murray School, Kentucky.

Morant, who plays with confidence and dynamism, scored 17 points, with 16 assists and 11 rebounds, in the victory of the 12th seeded Racers against the fifth seed, Marquette. It was the first triple-double of the NCAA tournament since Draymond Green had one in 2012.
In first year, Morant had an average of 12.7 points, 6.5 rebounds and 6.3 assists per game, but he has burst on the scene this season.
Unheralded in high school, Morant joins the Hornets of South Carolina this summer and begins his second season, teaming up with Zion Williamson before the legend of the Duke star really takes off. The first division I am offering to Morant did not arrive until the start of his junior season in South Carolina.
Murray State discovered Morant in the summer before his senior season. Morant was a late addition to Chandler Parsons camp. Then assistant coach James Kane went to camp for eight hours to see Murray State's target, Tevin Brown, and Morant played three against three in the auxiliary gymnasium. Kane immediately called Murray State coach Matt McMahon.
"Right now, you've just seen athletics and explosivity, creativity and its ability to play, not only for itself, but for others as well," McMahon said. "He always had flair, creativity, flair."

DraftKings Sportsbook opened the odds on the player to be ranked No. 2 overall in 2019, and Morant is the favorite -190. RJ Barrett has the next best odds at +140, followed by Zion Williamson at +550. Sion is the big favorite of the first place at -835.
