Ja Rule was the musical guest of the Minnesota Timberwolves match against the Milwaukee Bucks game Saturday night (Feb. 23), but things did not unfold as quickly as he'd hoped, letting hope that the Queens Rhymer sometimes defended himself awkwardly.
The contest was held at the Fiserv Forum of the Bucks and the theme of the evening was that of the 1990s. Ja, who did not release his first album before the end of the decade, was selected as a performance performer at half-time. Conflicting videos appeared on the board. In any of them, Ja tries to make noise from the crowd and gets no response. The video went viral before another video of the same moment seemed to show Ja to get thanks from the crowd, but to have technical problems.
Strangeness, however, has not stopped there. Towards the end of his number, Ja interprets "I'm Real" with a whole team of dancers at the central court. Meanwhile, Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo returns to the ground and shoots with a teammate a few feet away from the rapper's set.
Sunday morning (February 24th), Ja made a jump on Twitter to minimize the two instances. "You're really on my dick …: sob," he tweeted. "Let's be CLEAR, my sound was damn early and did not fire at the scheduled time but I shook this bitch."
In response to Giannis' reaction to his set, Ja typed: "You act like it's not normal at half-time … you're crazy for this post !!!"
Even the Twitter account of the opposing team tried to stack Ja. Mocking Ja denial of defrauding people during the debacle of the Fyre Festival, they tweeted: "We too, were jostled, ripped off, jostled, the hood blinked, we go astray!" This did not surpass Ja who promised to put a spell on the team ala Lil B.
Check out the video of Ja's whole and his answer below.
